we have our last artist presentation in the class.

Chinese contemporary artist : zengfan zhi

Zeng Fanzhi曾梵志 (born 1964, Wuhan), lives and works in Beijing. He grew up during the cultural revolution, after which he attended Hubei Academy of fine Art. There, he was largely influenced by Expressionism. Zeng is one of the most popular artists of his era, in addition to being one of Asia's most financially successful artists.

This series of work reflects Zeng fanzhi transition from student to mature artists, there is also his early career turning point;

“Hospital series No. 3” showing modern mental turning into new face of city life.

In the PowerPoint i put too much word and sentences , it should be brief  word to summary. I think i need to get a speech class  next semester.

When we arrived at the intuit, one of the staff come over and briefly introduce the exhibitions to us. After then , we asked some question to him about the museum and artwork. The museum is really quite when we walk in.

Working as a group with zichong and Chelsea was great. They're easy going and work with. It was a good experience visiting the INTUIT.

For the presentation, I think we did pretty well on it.

But, I like the way how the other team record as a video when interview. 

However, I learned new artist and style of artwork, and the project going very well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Reflection about the museum project

 

             After we went to the Art Institute with class, then my group went to the center for intuitive and outsider art. It located at 756 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60642. When we get inside, it was so quiet and no one there only one staff there. It was a small museum but look neat. Many artwork hang on the wall but no descriptions. So that I can not understand that deeply.  

We took some pictures in outside and inside of the museum. Also, I took a video.

Artist 2 reflection

Movie : Goya's  Ghost

 

Summary : Catholic church has take over control in 1792 in Spain. The Artist Francisco Goya was working with the royalty. Lorenze was one of the church member. Ine's was innocent but sent to prison. Lorenze raped her and later Ine's gave birth a child. 20 years later. France invaded spain and released all prisoner. Ine's daughter became a whore.  Goya take care of Ine's. Goya has lost hearing and becaome out of mind. Later, new Zealand has invaded spain. Goya has sentence to death. 

Reflection: Goya was a genius in art . The movie are talking about the disorder period of Spain. Under the Church control, the people want to be free.  

Art institute trip reflection

The Art Institute of chicago is look bigger and perttier than previous museum we went to. And many of the artwork are worthless so that every room has many security. We spent the whole period to explored art.

This is our second times went to the Chicago architecture Biannual.The differences is we have handouts to do for this time. The artist paint on the window of the building. In the building, many project are related to architecture. Those can help us to understand more about what is architecture.
